Why Teaching English in Jinan?

Your City Guide to Jinan

As the capital of the Shandong Province, Jinan is often called one of the most beautiful cities in China. Unlike other metropolis-style cities, Jinan’s charm is in that of being the literal ‘City of Springs.’ It has a special feeling to it with warm and welcoming locals, plenty of history, and the peacefulness of its highly-esteemed natural springs.

Choose to teach in Jinan and you’ll be in the center of everything in the Shandong Province, ready to explore any time!

What Makes Jinan Unique

Aside from those amazing natural springs you’ll want to spend every free day you have soaking in, Jinan has produced many talented people in China’s history. Bian Que was a medical scientist in the Spring and Autumn Period; there was Zou Yan, a master of Five Element Theory from the Warring States Period; and Li Qingzhao was a famed female poet during the Song Dynasty. And while he’s not originally from Jinan, Li Bai wrote countless poems about the stunning beauty of this place.

Jinan Culture

As mentioned, Jinan doesn’t have that metropolitan atmosphere. It’s major highlights are the bounty of springs. But what you’ll find here in culture will make you feel right at home no matter how far away you are. The people in Jinan are known for being incredibly hospitable. Even Marco Polo himself praised it! (Photo: goglobaljobs)
