Job Description

  • Class size: 10 – 25 students
  • Student age: 3 – 15 years old
  • Teaching assistant and syllabus are provided
  • Become familiar with the programmes and courses of study at the centre and carry out the timetable of classes assigned by the CAD
  • Develop and use suitable supplementary materials as necessary
  • Use audio / video materials in classes
  • Prepare lessons and equipment in advance for all classes
  • Become familiar with and implement the Course Management Procedures
  • Maintain student and class records
  • Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students
  • Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, conversation clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations

Professional Development

  • Regularly evaluate own performance and progress
  • Attend and participate in workshops in teacher development offered by the center
  • Observe and be observed by the CAD and teaching colleagues
  • Be pro-active in improving teaching skills through sharing knowledge with colleagues, and using teaching resources found in the centre, A&C Intranet, Internet and any other available sources

Compensation

  • Salary: 15000 RMB – 16000 RMB after tax per month (accommodation can be arranged through Cathy Subject, with payments taken from salary for ease) 
  • Work hour: up to 40 hours per week (including 20 working hours)
  • Flight allowances: 6,000 RMB at the end of contract 
  • Health insurance is provided

  • Visa cost occurred in China 
  • Teachers in their first year have 10 days of paid annual leave that they are able to take. They are also able to use 5 paid sick days in the year if needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above degrees
  • TEFL/TESOL certificate  
  • Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New
    Zealand, South Africa or Ireland
  • Outgoing, social personality, clear motivations to teach and the ability
    to connect with students and deliver high level classes
  • Age: 22 to 50
