What to Eat in Changsha

The people of Changsha love their food, and to be honest, we think you’re going to love it too. The cuisine here is hot, quite comparable to Sichuan yet with its own unique flair. You’ll most certainly want to try stinky tofu, ‘sisters’ rice balls at the Fire Palace, and pop in Nanmenkou for the spicy shrimp. Octopus legs and snacks of peanuts are some of the most popular street foods that you’ll want to get a handle on. Things to Do in Changsha

One of the best things about Changsha is that the sights you’ll want to see are all within 7 miles of each other. There’s Huanxing Road which isn’t just for those delightful street foods but for shopping and getting an authentic peek into Chinese culture. Orange Island is in the middle of the Xiangjiang River, a place with gardens that will take your breath away and a huge statue of Mao’s head. 

Mount Yuelu Park is the place to be for exercise and a sublime view of the city skyline. And if you want to delve deeper into Changsha’s history the Hunan Provincial Museum will help with that.
